1. How will viewing these photographs effect the way you take photographs in the future?
I would say by looking at the photos, I learned different ways of how to capture such a action filled moments. It is easier to take photos when a lot of happening sometimes, but it is also hard to capture all of it at the same time.

For each of your favorite three photos
Explain why you chose the photograph
In the portrait of the Byron Photo I took that photo because It is a confusing photo that was intriguing to look at. The photo captured his face expression very well, which is kind of focused and serious looking while all the lamps and other stuff around it almost makes it unserious and playful. In the Coast Guard one I found the photo very cool because of all the things that the photo captures. Fear, action, dramatic, Sunny, water on the lens, an other person getting rescued, basically a lot of things happening in a pretty simple picture at the same time. The Kevin Hart photo is even more simple. It show more happiness and because I know who he is and what he does, makes the photo also even better. I did not realise that it was him until I saw the title name, therefore I think it was all the color and the brightness in the photo that mad it intriguing too.
2. Look up the listed "Client" and explain who, where and or what is being advertised?
The client of the Coast guard photo is Hana Hou! It is the The Magazine of Hawaiian Airlines. The specific photo is taken of the United States Coast Guard’s elite aviation survival technicians that is training relentlessly off the coast of O‘ahu to prepare for intense ocean rescues.”
The client of the Byron Photo is the National Association of Black Scuba Divers.
Portrait of diver Byron Small with the National Association of Black Scuba Divers. This shot is part of Brown Passport which is an ongoing, self-produced docuseries about race, faith and gender around the world.
The client of Kevin Hart is Runner’s World. What is shown is a photo from ‘A Run Through the Ages’ campaign and it celebrates Runner’s World’s 50th anniversary.
3. Explain why the photo is effective for what is being advertised?
The Coast guard one is effective becuase it capture a lot in one single photo. It also shows the seriousness and safety behind the whole advertisement.
In the one about Byron Photo we get the sense of
In the one about Runner’s world with Kevin Hart we can really see the old school style which represents the 50th anniversary very well. Even that the photo contains an focus on his old school nikes, high socks, short shorts and the hair style just makes it even better. Also the effect like the photo was takes 50 years ago really helps.
-
Camera angle - was the photographer above, below, behind, or in front of the subject(s)
In the Runner’s world, the photo is taken with a combination from the side and from the front and the photo is taken from a little bit from a lower level.
The coast guard photo is taken from a lower level, because the focus in the picture is the helicopter.
In the Byron photo the focus is on the main character and it is taken on an eye level.
-
Composition - does the subject(s) or object(s) fill the frame or was the rule of 3rd used, was it a detail, did diagonal lines pull you into the image, etc.?
I would say that in the Byron photo the main focus is to fill the frame, with both the main characters face and all the lamps.
In the Kevin Hart one, he is very centered and that is because he is the focus point of the photo.
In the Rescue photo, I would say that because the helicopter is centered the, I would say that it is a combination of centered focus and the hand is almost working as a leading line which makes the photo more dramatic.
-
Source of lighting - window, lamp, sun etc
They are all taken during daylight.
-
Direction of lighting - left, right behind, front, top below etc.
Coast guard rescue photo, the light is coming from the left.
In the kevin Hart photo the light is coming from behind of the character, you can see that becoase of the shadow, hard to tell with all the effects otherwise.
In the Byron photo the light is possibly coming from the back of the photographer, or that it is about to come up.
